  • Oh, this should be good.

  • Darkoneko Hellsing

    uh oh.

  • AdamBombTV

As soon as she steps on stage, a giant robot crashes through the wall and kidnaps boyf. There, that’s our conflict this chapter.

    • Frank

You’re saying this chapter is only going to be ten pages? Because let’s face it, giant robots do not have a great track record against her.

    • Lysiuj

Hey Mega-Girl’s boyf! Looks like you could use a little pick-me-up!

      • Abel Undercity

        • Lisa Izo

I scream at bad puns too. I feel ya.

    • And then Klevin was Gurwara

      • Kid Chaos

        Please, no. ๐Ÿ‘ฟ

        • AdamBombTV

          Please, yes.

      • Lisa Izo

Why does everyone keep spelling it Klevin when it’s Clevin?

It’s almost as if people never heard the name Clevin before, so keep thinking it’s Kevin with an L in there somewhere ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Rugains Fleuridor

That would calm me down at this point

    • Timothy McLean

SFP is not known for having physical conflicts drive the plot. She’s a bit like Saitamaโ€”once she gets to punching, the conflict probably won’t last much longer.

  • Lostman

I’m expecting something bad to happen any panel now, and the event keeps going. It’s like waiting for a bomb to go off.

    • Dwight Williams

And given this series, it won’t necessarily be any physical violence…

    • Brandon Barrus

Game of Thrones has ruined me. These people are so happy they will be dead soon.

  • Lysiuj

And that’s the last time they ever hold hands.

    • David Claughton

Yeah, the set up seems to suggest that something Alison is going to say will completely rub Klevin up the wrong way.

      • Lysiuj

        Oooo, didn’t think of that.

      • Lisa Izo

I am assuming it will not be, but might be distressing to Clevin, any of these:
“I just love torturing and threatening to kill rich libertarian men…”
        “So anyway, we are broke.”
“Greetings. My name is Professor Gurwara.”
“I have to come out, and admit that I am gay and in love with Feral.”
“I hate heart shaped glasses so much.”

        • Dave M

Setting up the reveal that Professor Gurwara is really Klevin (his power is to be able to shapeshift), and that he’s the one taking over Menace’s network.

          • AshlaBoga

            … That’s just evil.

        • Tim F

Viral video of her conversation with Gurwara starts showing up on everyone’s phones, in the middle of her speech.

  • tygertyger

Am I the only one who finds that last panel ominous?

    • Lostman

      • Lisa Izo

What’s the worst that can happen?

        • Jack_T_Robyn

          Sudden black screen and credits.

          • Jordan Hiller

            No. Absolutely not. No.

They wouldn’t do that to us.

            ….Would they?

          • AshlaBoga

            Soprano’s ending seems plausible.

        • BMPDynamite

        • M. Alan Thomas II

Now THIS I accept as good evidence that something bad’s going to happen to their relationship.

          • Holdun

I’m Doctor-Who conditioned to expect Cybermen bursting in through the windows.
Actually, robots smashing through the windows does seem likely…

          • AshlaBoga

I’m expecting Time Reapers just because.

    • Lisa Izo

I find the first panel ominous. Tinging a champagne glass lightly with ones fork at a fancy party? Nothing has ever come good from that.

    • Brandon Quina

Did you expect her to drag him up to the podium with her while she gives her speech? ๐Ÿ˜‰

But, yes, it’s deliberately framed as ominous.

  • Andres Molina

I predict that…. a giant explosion will go off, and blowup a good chunk of the building, and a crazy mysterious villain will try to kidnap Clevin, until, at least based on that Wahoooo!!!!! from an earlier panel, and if my theory turns out to be correct, he will reveal himself to be a cartoon character in disguise, and save the day.

  • Tylikcat

Oh, come now, Alison can hardly be in the minority of biodynamic individual when it comes to not being of legal drinking age! And there are a lot of DBs there.

    • Zorae42

Alison isn’t too young to drink; and since all the biodynamics are about the same age neither are they. Alison chooses not to for safety reasons. There may be other biodynamics who feel obligated to do the same (as well as ones who don’t drink for other reasons), but I assume they’re in the minority.

Although I think it was just some teasing on Lisa’s part (of the non-judgy kind).

      • Tylikcat

She was nineteen, she can’t be more than twenty now, I think. That would be too young to drink. (Which doesn’t mean she can’t get easy access to alcohol.) Lisa was twenty-one, so probably on the older edge of BDs.

        • masterofbones

Her parents are present, so with their permission she could legally drink. ๐Ÿ˜›

          • Tylikcat

Okay, granted. Somehow I doubt all the DB’s brought their folks with them?

          • What state is SFP set? That’s only true in 31 states, and not even then if Valkyrie headquarters isn’t considered a private space. As a bartender, I wouldn’t serve someone underage even if their parents said it was okay, anywhere in the United States.

      • Lisa Izo

Even if she is, who is going to arrest her?

They dont arrest her for threatening to murder civilians or reckless indifference to human life or destruction of property… probably not for torture and assault and battery either if they ever find out…. so I am pretty sure drinking one year under the legal age wont be what finally does her in.

    • AshlaBoga

Alison stated somewhere that she doesn’t drink because she thinks it’s a bad idea given her powerset.

Although on Supergirl, the title character drank some alien liquor and nobody cared since she was off duty despite presumably being more powerful than Alison. I find that since gross motor control hardly just vanishes instantly when you have a beer. If her motor control was that precarious I’d be terrified of whenever she was sleep deprived.

      • Lysiuj

It’s more likely a red line for her. One bit of wine or beer probably wouldn’t make her lose control, but she never drinks any alcohol at all just to be on the safe side and make sure she doesn’t even get near those situations.

        • Lisa Izo

Also no reason to assume she is immune to toxins or drugs, including alcohol, unlike Supergirl (who is immune to most of that stuff).

          • AshlaBoga

The alien liquor was pretty lethal to humans, it seemed to be a tasty version of methanol which really isn’t something I’d want in my completely human body.

  • Rascal_Face

I love Feral’s version of formal wear.

  • Edward L. Howell

“A more passionate, dedicated, scandalously attractive coterie of do-gooders the world has never seen.”

  • Lheticus Videre

At this point, I hope the entire party goes off without a hitch…then the big tragic thing happens while she’s on the way home, just to spite you guys. ๐Ÿ˜›

  • sarsbar

“Is everybody she cares about in the room? Oh good! Now let’s alienate the shit out of her!”

  • Tim F

Ohhh boy…a prolonged high like this only emphasizes the magnitude of a really painful fall. Here comes the edited tape of her confessions to Dr. ethical quandary. Then lots and lots of soul searching. Then eventually she realizes this has been the world’s longest “we’re not so different, you and I” monologue, possibly since Menace let her into his lair and gave her those files.

    • Weatherheight

“I am the ubiquitous Dr. Ethical Quandry!”
You get an upvote for prompting this to run through my head…

  • JohnTomato

Is that Gurwara’s younger brother in panel #3? Are all Gurwaras clones?

“My Clone Sleeps Alone” – Pat Benatar

    • Lisa Izo

It’s like Sparticus, but everyone will say ‘I am Gurwara’ instead.

      • JohnTomato

That certainly clears up any possible confusion.

  • S.I. Rosenbaum

i love that last panel but I think her hand’s facing the wrong way

    • CarenRose

I thought so too for a minute … but it’s from the same angle as the panel above it

  • Zorae42

Alison is holding Clevin’s hand from the front – cute. Although back on their first date it was the other way around.

I guess because they’re about the same height it’s not uncomfortable to switch it up? Or is it not a height thing? I just know it only feels comfortable one way with my boyf (and he’s 5-6 inches taller).

    • Lysiuj

I love that we’re all apparently just gonna adopt ‘boyf’ into our day-to-day speech from now on ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Lisa Izo

I refuse to do that, just as I refuse to use the slang of “za”… I have too much respect for the English language which I had to learn dangit.

        • AshlaBoga

Is English your second language? If so firstly, you speak it better than most ‘native’ speakers and secondly, what’s your opinion of it? I’ve been told it’s one o of the more inconsistent languages, and has words that break its rules. The spelling of “weird”, and “science”. The pronunciation of “colonel”. These are few of my least favourite things.

  • zellgato

    Boom….. bomb.
or. that isn’t actually the guy, and its just a simularcrum.

  • Pol Subanajouy

Yeah things are clearly going too smoothly at the moment.

  • Rose

I kinda like the 5th panel simply cos (tipsy) Hector and Alison’s sister are egging her on for a speech

  • Stephanie

I feel like she’s going to start giving her speech and slip back into angsting about moral greys halfway through. Just a sharp left turn into self-condemnation while all the attendees shuffle in place awkwardly.

  • AshlaBoga

Anyone concerned about the Brunhilde comment?

Last time I checked Brunhilde had 2 lovers, the first of which deceived her and she murdered him as a result. Is that past tense as having hit Patrick, or future tense as she’s going to kill Menace?

  • FlashNeko

Honestly? Something is going to happen but, instead of overt violence, I’m fully expecting a protest to suddenly bust in just as she’s about to speak.

Probably some anti-Biodynamic group teamed up with some MRA organization brandishing “proof” that Feral-based transplants cause autism (written by a scientist long since discredited from the community) and it’s secretly some plot to “infect” as many “normal” humans as possible.

The MRAs are there because they believe Valkyre is just another “SJW snowflake organization being racist against Straight White Men.”

And hey, thanks to Citizens United, the whole protest was organized and funded by a certain politician who does not have to reveal her connection to it.

Or would that be a little too politically on the nose?
