It’s really cute that Hector hugged Klevin. It kinda underscores that Hec’s a really earnest, nice dude, even if he’s kinda bad at minmaxing his powers for the good of everyone.

Also Brad and Al’s hug is just so nice. You can tell that, even though they sometimes don’t do right by each other, Brad and Al and Hector all love each other. They were just kids, pressed into military roles, alone against a world of horrible, apocalyptic catastrophe, and somewhere along the way they had to become a family to survive.

“This is my family. I found it all on my own. It’s little… and it’s broken… But it’s still good. Yeah. Still good” -Stitch

  • Darkoneko Hellsing

    Bon~soir~~

  • Ellie

    So cuteee!!

  • Azmodan

Oh no! Klevin/Moonshadow’s disguise fritzed out when her concentration was disrupted via the hug! The glasses shifted up to his forehead!

  • Abel Undercity

Feral will never see that motorcycle again, hahaha.

    • Lisa Izo

Dangit I didnt see that you wrote this

      • Abel Undercity

        Great minds think alike. ^_^

    • Mechwarrior

No one will ever see that motorcycle again.

  • Strawman

It’s “Bonsoir” in one word and you don’t say it as a goodbye, but as a greeting.

    • Ben Posin

Fair enough. I guess Brad doesn’t speak French very well–no particular reason we should think he does.

      • Strawman

On the other hand it’s super fun to think about the in-universe effects of spelling mistakes apparent in speech bubbles that don’t affect oral speech so I’m not complaining

      • Lisa Izo

He might just be a pseudo-intellectual, and thinks putting out a french phrase here and there makes him sound classier. He does tend to use ‘classy’ words, after all. Sullied and the like.

        • Irreleverent

He’s also super conscientious. I don’t think he’d use a foreign language phrase without knowing he’s definitely getting it right. I’m gonna say typo.

          • Lisa Izo

Unless he thought he was getting it right and doesn’t know he isn’t.

Or yeah, could be a typo. πŸ™‚

  • zellgato

Seriously Clevin just keeps looking more evil

    • AL Tei

      I think He is Malice…..
      (Clevin)

      • zellgato

Honestly I was thinking that before.
A while back I talked about how a strong theme in this story so far has been people getting power upgrades. Allison got flight, moonshadow’s power increased in ability, knife kid’s knives have become atomic bond cutting levels.
Meanace’s base power was mind reading. I’ve been wondering for a while if his power upgrade will either allow him to control people (to some extent), or affect people’s mind and perception. So I wonder if he overwrote their perceptions or if he mind jacked clevin.

        • AL Tei

          Exactly so.

        • Arkone Axon

There’s still the question of motive. WHY would he do that? He pushed Alison away with deliberately hurtful words (and received a horrific injury in retaliation). I suppose he could be trying to get her back like Killgrave in “Jessica Jones,” but Patrick was never so selfish, stupid, or arrogant – if he wanted anything more from Alison at this point, it would be a resumption of their friendship (and he’d know that being a creepy stalker would not get him that).

Simply put… Patrick doesn’t think small enough for that. He’s guilty of some pretty horrific crimes, but if he were to use his powers for self gratification he’d be doing it to fill his penthouse apartment with porn stars or something. And he doesn’t do the petty revenge thing, either. He’s got better and more important things he’d rather be doing.

          • Irreleverent

I tend to agree with this. Patrick is many shitty things, but he’s never been seen to be petty. This has no endgame that couldn’t be accomplished dramatically easier given his means. Like, it’s not being intimate with Alison, (he deliberately avoided every advance she made) so what reason could there actually be?

The the absolute most damning bit of evidence is that *Clevin worked at a movie theater* and repeatedly asked Alison on movie dates. Patrick cannot stand to just watch TV or even listen to the radio. Why would he actively go out of his way to put himself in a situation where he’s forced to. There would be much more effective and bearable date ideas.

          • zellgato

Honestly.. Its a serious control thing. He probably isn’t mr logical, he has emotions too. but he’ll have a FAR harder time controlilng and feeling his own emotions becaues he literally tastes hears smells everyone else.
The concept I had, was that he isn’t knowingly using his powers in some cases. It coudl easily be his subconcious riding out his true desires without his permision.

Allison validated him. She didn’t care that he could read her like abook. She wasn’t played by him. After alife of being feared and never making a real connection. He had one, and that scared him, which is part of hte reason for the harsh words. Look at anyone in a strong relationship without the life experience to back that up.
The guy is a social cripple when he isn’t “following the route” that he can read.
He probably feels he needs her to be “himself” in some part

      • Irreleverent

I don’t think Patrick would have the resolve to work at a movie theater without any guarantee that Alison would ever be there.

  • tygertyger

Wha…? No kaboom? I was promised a kaboom!

    • Lysiuj

Kaboom is a dish best served cold.

    • Lheticus Videre

      Wait for it…

      • palmvos

given that we heard no details about the sit-on incident i am expecting another jump cut.

    • Irreleverent

Ali will give Klevin a kaboom alright… πŸ˜‰

    • Philip Bourque
  • Walter

What’s over Alison’s arm in the last panel?

    • Mechwarrior

Looks like some sort of outer-wear. Whatever the female equivalent of a jacket is that’s intended to be worn over a fancy dress.

      • Soqoma

“the female equivalent of a jacket”

        • Mechwarrior

          I was sleep-deprived when I wrote that.

          • Tylikcat

            A coat, a cloak, a wrap – there’s a fair bit of variation.

          • Kittenbot Doomypants

There would also be a shawl, shrug…

          • Weatherheight

Walked right into it, didn’t ya?
            Don’t post sleepy – don’t post sleeepy. πŸ˜€
(Bonus points if you recognize the butchered movie references)

        • Lisa Izo

What is this jac-ket of which mechwarrior speaks? It sounds intriguing. Is it like the male form of a shrug or shawl?

  • The Dread Pirate Steve #812

Okay, what is Brad’s nose supposed to be? I know what it LOOKS like but I need the actual to get that idea out of my head!!!

    • ukulady7
    • Weatherheight

It sort of resembles the nose of a couple species of vampire bat. But ukulady7 makes a compelling argument…

      • The Dread Pirate Steve #812

Thank you! I think I’ve successfully exorcised something thanks to y’all…

  • JohnTomato

If Al is wearing matching bra and panties it was her idea to get sweaty with Klevin.

    • palmvos

ok, I concede that in that case you might be correct. however, there has been no establishment of that condition in comic. just in our… minds. also, the last time this subject came up in comic Alison was way way too embarrassed to discuss it. shes a bit more nervous about this than normal. with some cause since she’s roughed up both of her earlier love interests, and may not trust her self control. as embarrassing as it was for the guy who got stuck in a barbell weight to be taken to the emergency room. the potential ambulance call would be much much more painful for Alison if she…. slips.

      • JohnTomato

I believe one of her doctors inquired about sexual contact or masturbation.

        • palmvos

yes that is the one time Alison’s sexuality has been discussed in comic. she wasn’t very eager at the time.

          • JohnTomato

            Snu-snu.

  • Weatherheight

Tara is talking about the motorcycle… right?

    • AshlaBoga

I was thinking the same thing πŸ˜‰

    • tygertyger

If you were thinking about something else that she could ride later, get your mind out of the gutter. πŸ˜‰

  • Lisa Izo

Soo….. when is the bad thing happening?

    • palmvos

at the usual time… when the bill arrives.

  • Okay, but can she fly at AIRPLANE SPEED, or long enough to actually make across the ocean?

Better to be that fashion designer guy.

    • Tsapki

Johnny? I suppose that could work. Though I find myself wondering what his teleport limits are. His distance is fantastic (at least across the Atlantic Ocean), his timing is great (twice teleported away from Alice in a split second even when she lunged at him), but I wonder on his mass limit. All we have seen him teleport with includes his clothes and some drinks or a protest sign.

      • Irreleverent

I mean, he’s almost assuredly a “tier 1” teleporter. (though it’s unclear if the tiers mean anything outside the US, or if they’re standardized) I mean, his powers are kinda insane. I imagine most teleporters don’t have nearly his precision or range.

  • Lostman

Nothing went wrong throughout the night, it may happen in the morning…

  • Eve

Awww, such cute couples, and cute friends.

Am I the only one thinking that you can’t really link arms with someone on the same side that you’re using a walking stick? I use my stick for overall balance, so I will sometimes switch hands with it, but either way, I’ll hold hands with my partner on the other side.

  • DaktariD

Hey Molly, If you can manage it, sit next to R.L. Stine during your Friday panel. He’s an exceptionally funny and fun person. I met him at a writer’s con a few years ago. What a blast!

  • Dawn Smashington

Further Amanda is Moonshadow conspiracy theorizing; Amanda’s carrying what look like car keys. Can she fit in regular cars? It stands to reason, of course, that if that’s the case then she just drives a larger car or a custom type thing, but hey. Maybe she’s gonna drop the light illusion and drive away once nobody’s looking, too.

  • Richard Griffith

Do they tape the ComicCon sessions and release them under a structured format? Or does one just have to hope for a bootleg to appear somewhere? I know some librarians who I could push the first one on. And the others look interesting.

  • Lisa Izo

Feral is never going to see that motorcycle again.

    • palmvos

maybe she will get custody at the divorce proceedings…..

  • Danygalw

    Eee!
